‘A Year in Review’ of the IT industry, according to the ‘San Francisco Gate’. It’s at times important to note that San Francisco was the first of all cities worldwide to show signs of the decline with the dot coms back in March 2000, followed later by Silicon Valley and then pretty much everyone else worldwide. 2001 saw the worst of times for the entire IT industry (chips, pc’s, mobile devices, dot coms, and internet infrastructure) to some, the worst in 35 years. There is a new book available by Jakob Nielsen & Marie Tahir titled Homepage Usability: 50 Websites Deconstructed.
Although I haven’t read it yet, it seems to contain useful information bridging the theory and practice gap, which Nielsen has at times been criticised for.
It was published November 5, 2001 in the U.S.
