Curl the new Web programming language by MIT

Curl is a new web programming language created by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to streamline complex web content by merging the functionality of different programming languages.

It’s creators believe it speeds up the delivery of applications over the web by up to 10 times.

Curl was commercially launched at the Software Development Forum in Palo Alto, California, USA on 6 August 2001.

A look at the SMIL

A look at the SMIL 2.0 Recommendation put forward by the W3C last month. The proposed language, SMIL (pronounced “smile”) would allow control of time-based media within HTML documents. It does this by synchronising & scheduling the playing of media/multimedia within HTML ::: www.w3.org/TR/1998/REC-smil-19980615 and www.w3.org/AudioVideo where SMIL players can be downloaded.
